Proof of funds (maintenance): Migrationsverket requires about SEK 10,314/month (2026) for the study period — at least the first year (~SEK 123,768 for 10 months). It must be in your own bank account, accessible (not locked/frozen). Scholarships count; money gifted by relatives must be transferred into your own account first.
Living costs: roughly SEK 8,000–12,350/month. Stockholm is priciest; Lund, Uppsala, Gothenburg and Umeå are cheaper. A subsidised student corridor room keeps costs down.
